Blood, Sweat and Cheer plot

Renee Mills is a single mother who is deeply involved in the life of her daughter Cherie, a member of the Thompson Park High School dance crew. Even too involved, because Cherie is fed up with her and is going to live with her father. Renee, who gave birth to Cherie during her teenage years, had to give up her dreams of becoming a high school cheerleader and going to college, and clearly lives vicariously by Cherie. With that opportunity gone, a chance comment from one of Cherie's teammates and a call from a college recruiter, on a phone she confiscated from Cherie, leads her to come up with a wild plan.
