An American Affair plot

Prosecutor Sam Brandy will do anything to make it to the top, even blackmailing corrupt cop Mulroney isn't going too far. Sam is determined to destroy the reputation of the son of a prominent senator. At the same time, he has a relationship with two women who are also each other's best friends, which does not make this love triangle any easier. When it turns out that one of the women is pregnant, he asks her to marry him. Then he finds out that he is being followed.
