Alias plot

Friends Eva and Patti happen to witness a woman fall from a window and crash into the footpath. What's more, Eva filmed it. On their way to the station they meet Dieter. Eva is very attracted to him and goes home with him. The next day they say goodbye without anything happening. A few days later Dieter suddenly shows up. Her boyfriend is not happy with this competitor, but Patti now also smells danger. Dieter is after all interested in the videotape of the accident. Maybe he has something to do with it? And maybe the fall wasn't an accident after all?

Verheyen is strong in his comic films: Team Spirit, Everything must go, Boys, Zot van A. But put him in action or thriller (Dossier K, Missing) and things go wrong. I think to each his own genre, but this just doesn't suit him. Leave this to Van Looy. Alias floats in between. Verheyen can create some atmosphere, although that is mainly due to the strong cast. Although I doubt whether almost 10 years later, many people still know this film. In any case, as a thriller, this is a good attempt.

Quite a pleasant little horror from our southern neighbors that unfortunately often looked like some kind of TV series. What is true is that after the first incident you already know who is behind it and that makes it no longer surprising. In fact, it will be revealed very quickly. The end is a step forward, when Eva is held captive by that family, especially by Dieter's dead-scary mother. Was indeed reminded of that mother of Jason Voorhees. That still manages to keep the attention a bit. The very last second was also quite creepy, but it leaves you with a lot of questions.

But still a nice video. Only Linkeroever is better.

Solid Flemish thriller without being really high-quality. One from the gray middle class, but sometimes OK to have seen, if it is something from our own soil. A film from Verheyen's earlier work with a Flemish star cast that Verheyen likes to return to.

The plot is recognizable. At times a bit unclear or insufficiently developed. For example, the police investigation is very limited or even lacking. The fact that everyone comes to the institution almost out of nowhere and on their own is also strange.

The film offers quite a bit of tension. The ending in the setting is pretty good. Actors are doing quite well. Never really been a fan of Hunaerts, but here I found him quite OK. Does indeed now play in the popular series Thuis (just like Pol Goossen by the way) where I find him acting much more wooden. Michael Pas is always nice to see of course.
