Spirit of Youth plot
Joe Thomas leaves for the big city to earn money for his mother and disabled father. After several jobs, it turns out that he can handle his fists very well, something that his buddy "Crickie" does not miss. He arranges a meeting with boxing promoter Frankie Walburn, who initially reacts negatively. But when Joe wins his first small fights, Walburn takes him under his arm. Success comes quickly, but when Joe neglects his training, this causes the necessary worries, so close to the big fight for the title.
