One Minute to Play plot
Red Wade is a star player on the high school football team who hopes to attend Claxton University and play for the decorated college football team. However, his disapproving father, John, wants him to quit the sport and go to Parmalee University, a school facing financial and athletic difficulties, to focus on his education. During the train journey to Claxton, he meets Sally Rogers, whose brother Tex is the head coach of the football team at Parmalee, and gets into a fight with Claxton captain Biff Wheeler, resulting in him losing consciousness.
