The Great Air Robbery plot
"An Astounding Drama Staged in the Clouds"
The year is 1919. The Death Head Aerial Squadron is a gang that specializes in robbing aircraft and is led by Chester Van Arland. Van Arland plans to steal a postal shipment of gold worth $20,000. This shipment would have to be delivered by plane in Washington to make coins out of it. Postal Service pilot Larry Cassidy and copilot Wallie Mason are forced to reroute during a night flight by Van Arland, who has kidnapped Cassidy's girlfriend Beryl Caruthers. But Van Arland didn't count on Cassidy's determination. Cassidy tries to convince Van Arland to leave his plane with the stolen gold using a rope ladder.
