Most Dangerous Man Alive plot

The flamboyant Eddie Candell, leader of a gang of thugs, has been wrongly accused of murder by jealous mobster Andy Damon. On his way to death row, Eddie manages to escape and his escape route runs through the desert. Suddenly Eddie finds himself at an atomic test site, just as an experimental bomb goes off. Instead of being killed instantly, Eddie is bombarded by "Cobalt Isotope X" radiation. This newly discovered element keeps Eddie alive, partly due to the absorption of the metal objects on his body, such as the handcuffs.
