Countdown plot
"The motion picture that puts a man on the moon and you follow him every terrifying second of the way."
The space race between Russia and the US comes to a head when the Russians announce they will land on the moon. The US is not yet ready for a fully manned mission, but decides to send scientist Lee Stegler (James Caan) to the moon in a malfunctioning rocket. His main helper is astronaut Chiz (Robert Duvall), who, however, firmly believes that he must undertake the journey himself. That puts a lot of pressure on the preparation and the trip itself...
