If you have only seen a movie is not enough, you should also watch series. It is definitely one of my favorite series ever. Despite season 3 a bit weak, but luckily season 4 made up for it again. I really enjoyed a lot!

It's definitely worth a ten. Season 1 was just great.

I even think I'm going to buy box. It's just a must to have in my house.

This series is actually very different from star trek/stargate. Battlestar Galactica is just much more realistic about it. If you've watched it, you'll understand what I mean. Even if you shouldn't take what I said so seriously.

Adama (Edward James Olmos) played really excellent in his role. He just shows that he is the real boss. Captain Tigh aka Michael Hogan is clearly an actor level of B but still he plays well in his role. I can name many more who were all good.

I watched them a week ago. I'm sure I'll be watching it again in six months. It's just addictive.

I would immediately recommend this series to anyone who is definitely a science fiction fan.

My second introduction to the world of Battlestar Galactica. The first was with the pilot of Caprica. Not bad, but it didn't impress either. However, this mini is a bull's eye. This is science fiction that I love! Although the setting is pretty cool, it strikes me that the makers have quite clearly been inspired by other sagas like Dune (Butlerian Jihad). Not that this is a bad thing, because outside of the basic idea of a human vs machine war, nothing is the same.

The compliments mainly go to the grand design of the entire epic (certainly for a series). Of course it is also easier when space battles can be displayed with neat CGI. The fact that the same CGI is not always convincing is very bearable. It is difficult to judge a series after three hours. The characters and story have barely developed. It's like giving a CD a rating after two songs. The first impressions are positive, because the very depressed atmosphere is interesting and eventually it can all become nice and epic. There is also a nice nod to Silent Running. In any case, I'm really looking forward to watching the sequel. Strong pilot!

Nice movie/TV pilot for the sci-fi enthusiast. I'm more of a fan of the Star Trek series than Battlestar Galactica but I have to say that this pilot itself is nice. It starts out quite strong and invites you to keep following it, but gradually it loses some power. A clever move is how they let the 'old' ship fit into the story, a great choice to do it this way instead of giving everything a facelift. The first 90 minutes are doable and get a 3.5* from me, but after that the level drops considerably.

I also didn't like the romantic story of that scholar and his blond girlfriend, which is always woven through and gets too much upper hand. He is also very clichéd and the actor who plays him does not make much of it. As a TV pilot it obviously has a kind of open ending which is also a downside if you want to judge this as a movie. In my case, it's not really inviting to see the series, especially because for reasons incomprehensible to me they already reveal that the 13th colony is a myth. You can also sense which way things are going by the emphasis placed on the existence of 12 'clones'.

A film that initially aroused my curiosity, but then went out like a candle. A meager 3*
