The Dutch Master plot
Teresa is a dental hygienist from Brooklyn and is unlike her female colleagues. She can't enjoy the kind of simple pleasure like watching men strip. Just before her wedding to a boring police officer, she becomes fascinated by the seventeenth-century painting 'The Drinker' by the Dutch master Pieter de Hooch, which hangs in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. She sees it for the first time during her lunch break and after that she can't get it out of her mind. Again and again she sits in front of the painting and stares at the Dutch young man on it. One day, the landscape in the painting comes to life...
