The Birthday Wish plot
Gwen Turner directs television commercials. She has been in a long-term relationship with Alex, who is a weather forecaster by trade. Gwen expects Alex to propose to her on her thirtieth birthday. When Alex doesn't do this, she is disappointed. Gwen regularly works with Dave, also a director. He is a funny, charming man. Alex does not have these good qualities. Soon, Gwen begins to spend more time with Dave.
