Saturday Island plot
"A South-Seas Shangri-La of romance and adventure beyond your wildest dreams!"
During World War II, an American military hospital ship hits a Japanese naval mine in the Pacific Ocean. Lieutenant Elizabeth Smythe, a nurse, and Michael J. "Chicken" Dolan, a Marine Corporal, are the only survivors. The two wash up on the remote and uninhabited 'Saterday Island'. After spending more than two months on this deserted island, Eliszabeth and Chicken, despite their age difference, fall in love. Their peaceful existence is brutally disrupted when a plane shelled by the Japanese crashes on the island. The lone survivor, William Peck, also falls for Elizabeth. When the trio are finally returned to civilization by a Navy ship, they see each other in a different light and react in an unexpected and different way than on the deserted island.
