"You can't buy happiness...but you can try"
Former boxer Ray must one day recover a large sum of money in a bad neighborhood. However, when he finds the money back, he decides to keep it. After all, he can try to win his ex back with it. The widow Helen has a hard time making ends meet. She happens to bump into the successful author Mary, a woman who not much later commits suicide. Helen finds a letter near her body after which she heads for the city. There she meets Ray with whom she forms a bond. Can they start a new life?
