Pareh plot

This Sundanese spoken feature film is about the impossible love between fisher boy Machmoed and village girl Wagini. The ending of this love drama full of trickery and deceit (by tradition, villagers are not allowed to marry fishermen) is determined by supernatural forces. The theft of the sacred kris from the dessa head Loerah Toroeno sets in motion a chain of fateful events, which ends only when the kris is recovered.
