Melanie van der Straaten plot

Spoiled Melanie (Laurance Calame) lives unhappily by the side of her wealthy, much older husband Ezechiel van der Straaten (Kurt Böwe). She has a protected and quiet life. However, Melanie is becoming more consciously aware of her own life and the lie that lives. She leaves her family to follow her great love, the young Ebenezer Rubehn (Christian Steyer).
