A romanized biography of the singer Paul Delmet during the period of Le Chat Noir, a 19th century cabaret in the bohemian district of Montmartre of Paris. Paul Delmet is a real singing talent. He meets the sympathetic Suzanne and they fall in love. He starts to love her more and more, but has to choose between the public or the love of the young girl.
