Beautiful Disaster plot
Bad boy Travis is just what freshman Abby needs and wants to avoid. He spends his nights fighting in underground boxing matches and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. But Abby wants nothing to do with Travis. Intrigued by Abby's resistance to his attraction, Travis offers her a simple bet: If he loses his next fight, he must be free from sex for a month. If he wins, Abby will have to live in his apartment for the same amount of time.

The most appropriate is the title, because the film is a “disaster” in several ways. An in itself unconvincing story is expertly killed by the substandard acting and weak direction. Really a disaster.

Unhinged romantic comedy in which Virginia Gardner and Dylan Sprouse form a nice duo, but clearly cannot compete with the rather unbalanced and childish scenario. Beautiful Disaster forms a fairly uninhibited mix of various genres that are not alternated with each other all that well, especially the humor is rather neglected. The basic concept in which the two have a kind of agreement with each other is also swept under the carpet and all kinds of side issues (such as the plot about Gardner's father) are rather randomly crammed into the action. Director Roger Kumble directs with a good sense of visual images and there is a decent pace, but in the end the film mainly feels like a easily put together mess.
