Adventures in Love & Birding plot

John, a longtime birdwatcher, abandoned his doctoral studies in this field when he realized he hated academia and preferred the outdoors. This change led to a break with fellow birdwatcher and academic Breena, who wanted someone who took the academic aspect more seriously than John. John now has a job at The Nature Conservancy but dreams of starting his own bird-guiding business. He meets Celeste, a high school English teacher who was divorced a year ago after a twenty-two-year marriage.
