Phantom Killer plot

The well-known deaf and dumb profiteer John G. Harrison is recognized when he leaves the site where several murders have taken place. However, he successfully escapes conviction, as there are hundreds of witnesses who saw John begging at the same time as the murders took place. Frustrated police sergeant Pete Corrigan quits his job and investigates himself.
