Madame Sphinx plot

Disgusted when the police fail to apprehend her guardian's murderer, Henri Du Bois, Celeste decides to track him down herself. Her only clue is a cufflink left at the crime scene, engraved with a sphinx. When she sees a man wearing a tie pin of the same design, she meets him and eventually asks him to visit her at home.
