Death and the Compass plot
Lonnrot, an infallible detective, declares war on the notorious criminal 'Red Scharlach' after the latter commits a most audacious heist. The mysterious murder of a priest gives Lonnrot a clue that leads him and Inspector Treviranus to the 'Liverpool bar' in search of the kidnapped tipster Gryphius. From there, accompanied by the journalist Zunz, Lonnrot follows Scharlach to the vila 'Triste-Le-Roy' and unravels the greatest mystery of all.
