Private detective Steve Carramond is visited by the somewhat vague Constance Martin. Constance thinks her uncle was murdered. The reason for the murder could be that he was one of six participants in an investment project. Ten years ago, each would have put $10,000 into an investment fund, and the last survivor would cash it all. Steve doesn't want to deal with Constance's problem now, because he's getting married to Angela the next day. Constance still wants Steve's cooperation and she messes up the wedding. Meanwhile, Constance knows that the second of the six people has been murdered. Steve and Constance investigate, but still more and more participants are killed and they are now also the police after them, because they are always the last to see the participants in the investment fund alive.
