"If I die before I wake this note will reveal The Killer..."
April Haddon travels to native Britain to attend the funeral of her parents, who, according to the official report, appear to have died of natural causes at the same time. But April can't believe this. She believes that her stepmother Florence Haddon, a prominent and respected citizen of the city, knows more about it. Florence is a nurse who took care of the elderly couple Haddon. April finds out she's the next victim on the killer's kill list.
