"Villain and hero in one... the more to be feared because he was Loved!"
Wealthy and disabled John Duncan is slowly dying of an unknown illness. Duncan wants his assistant Dr. David Graham puts an end to his suffering. Graham doesn't want to do that, but corrupt lawyer Robert Waldo, with the prospect of inheriting Duncan's millions, isn't so conscientious. Waldo kills Duncan and makes it appear that Graham killed him for his fortune. A lawsuit follows.
