Zigeunerbaron plot
The 17th century. Sandor von Barinkay's father once hid a treasure somewhere in the forest. Pig farmer Zsupan knows about that treasure and wants Barinkay to marry his daughter Arsena, in order to force Barinkay to form an alliance between their two families. But when Barinkay meets the gypsy Czipra, who has also heard of the treasure, the gypsies see Barinkay as their new leader. By obtaining the false title of 'Baron of the Gypsies', he now has the proper title of nobility to marry Arsena. But then he meets Saffi, a gypsy who turns out to be the daughter of the last Turkish pasha...
