Rosie O'Grady is a saloon singer who seeks her fortune in London. Under the name Madeleine Marlowe she quickly made a career as a musical star. She meets the wealthy Duke Charles of Trippingham and becomes engaged to him. However, her plan to marry the Duke is thwarted by Sam MacKeever, a journalist who learned about Rosie's past life and made it known in his newspaper, the Police Gazette. But what's the real reason for this apparently vile trick of MacKeever?
