My Lips Betray plot
Café singer Lili Wieler (Lilian Harvey) is mistakenly mistaken for the mistress of King Rupert of Rutania. The king (John Boles), who composes love songs in his spare time, is immediately blown away by both Lili's voice and her beauty. The girl, who mistakes him for a chieftain of the bodyguard, plays the game completely unknowingly and becomes popular all over the country. However, the country of Rutania is in a major economic crisis, forcing Rupert to marry a wealthy foreign princess. When this princess learns of Rupert's so-called amourette with Lili, she disappears to Paris with a tango dancer.
