"A musical romance of two hearts in love time."
Brooklyn-born Jean Kendall is an aspiring actress. Ambitious film director Ken Lane is looking for a Swedish actress to replace his temperamental star Hedwig Forsell. Desperate Ken decides to use Jean as a Scandinavian movie sensation. For six weeks Ken accompanies her to speak the correct Swedish accent. Ken's ruse is successful until his jealous ex-fiancée Gerry Marsh learns of his cheating with Jean.
