A pleasant musical with unfortunately not so great music. Of course the classics are pleasant to hear, but unfortunately all songs have been given a new look, which took away quite a bit of atmosphere. Especially that porn bass. Very ungroovy.

Otherwise a good movie. Excellent acting. The camera work is pretty straightforward and not really worth it, but hey, it doesn't do anything more than tell a story here with lots of funny dance numbers, and that works fine.

I was a bit apprehensive about the film because it is from 1979. A real hippie atmosphere would therefore not be entirely feasible. That turned out to be well reasoned, although I couldn't quite name what exactly was the cause (except for the music). Perhaps the film is somewhat naive about what hippies are exactly: the drug use is only sporadic here and doesn't seem to really add anything to the characters. In addition, this is a small secluded group of people who actually seem to be fairly detached from the rest of the world. A pleasant film to watch, but give me authentic hippie explorations such as Easy Rider, Psych-Out and The Trip.

A musical about hippies and criticism of the Vietnam War: a bull's eye at the time and still quite enjoyable today.

I saw this by chance and brought it with me. I only knew this musical by name, I couldn't immediately come up with songs from this film. The first song (Aquarius), Good Morning Starshine, Hare Krishna & Let the Sun Shine did ring a bell for me. I didn't really know the other songs. They were a bit mixed up, but there were some nice ones in there: Hair, Black Boys & White Boys and the song where he danced on the table stood out the most. Sodomy was the most remarkable song

It was also a musical in which there was not constant singing and which also had a story.

The cast didn't do too badly.

It was something different, but it was still worth the effort to have seen it, I have not regretted it.
