El 7 Leguas plot

After Madero's death, Pancho Villa prepares for a surprise attack on López's garrison. The village of Paradones is commanded by the corrupt federal army. Pancho Villa sends an envoy to the people of Paredones to lead them into his struggle. To make sure the mayor recognizes the envoy, Villa sends the envoy on his way with the horse "Siete Leguas", a gift from the mayor to Villa. When the envoy arrives in Paradones, he is warned by the mayor's daughter: the mayor has fallen in love with General López's daughter, and is no longer loyal to Villa.
