Big Time plot
"The concert was "the best live performance of the year." The movie is BIG TIME."
"Big Time" is a mixture of dream and reality. Tom Waits has been recorded during various performances, but in between also plays a theater manager. In that role, due to a lack of customers - only one lady walks past his counter - he gets every opportunity to dream about a dazzling showbiz career. The musical basis is formed by three groundbreaking studio albums of his hand: Swordfishtrombones, Rain Dogs and Franks Wild Years, which together can be considered a trilogy.
