When I saw that the film is for twelve years and older, a bell had to ring. This film is too soft to be a horror film. Bad effects, no original story and nowhere does the film become really exciting. Also the idea of time travel in this context is a flop 'in itself'. For time travel you have to adhere to a few basic rules, which are also addressed in this film by the "physicist", but the film does nothing with them. I was quite annoyed by that when the film was over.

In addition, the acting is not strong. Especially the emotion (or was it the script?) was like watching robots. No sorrow in the eyes, no moment of disappointment or fear when you hear that your best friend murders your twenty-year-older-self... As if I was watching a run-of-the-mill teenage movie. Now I have to say that the 2003 picture is nicely portrayed, but when you hear Avril Lavigne for the umpteenth time, I also know that we are watching times gone by. No, not a special movie.

Perhaps fun for the younger people among us, but there are much better films in this genre!

Weak horror film that doesn't really convince. We've seen the concept before and in a better execution. The film never really gets off the ground.

The beginning was interesting, but it quickly follows the beaten path again. The execution is just not completely great. Few kills and blood do not make it more exciting.

The acting seems emotionless and unconvincing. The characters remain superficial, making it quite difficult to empathize.

Still, it remains simple entertainment for the late evening and I enjoyed myself somewhat.

2.5*

Mysterious drama science fiction film with very mild horror elements, especially because director Hannah Macpherson deliberately sets this film up for a younger audience. Probably with the intention to criticize the current generation, but not much is achieved with it. The sentimental angle in particular is given too much space in Time Cut, causing the other elements to quickly be drowned out and also come across as very tame. Madison Bailey walks around with a single facial expression on her face throughout the entire film and the murders are not shown, fortunately the film does offer something in terms of content. Characters are faced with interesting dilemmas that are worked out well and the twists towards the end are quite convincing, but otherwise this remains a very safe project with too little material to stick in your retina.

It's not horror at all, almost a thriller. But actually it's just a bad movie.

It feels a bit like this film was produced too quickly, because the story could have been so much more fun and better developed.

Reasonable teenage mystery/thriller. The story is nicely constructed, but not always very logical. So don't think about it too much. The execution is quite nice and aimed at a young target group. Don't expect a real slasher or something, but a fresh mystery where the camera turns away in time when a victim falls. The film is easy to watch and the film remains captivating. You also keep looking to see how it will end. The ending is a very happy ending, but fitting. The acting is passable. Visually not special. 3.0

Reasonable premise, but the execution is mediocre. The film is a bit reminiscent of Scream, but with a sci-fi flavor. The whole time travel thing is only moderately worked out because it seems to hint at parallel timelines. I'm more of a fan of timelines like in Terminator. Furthermore, the terrible pop music stands out. There is enough nice music from the time, they choose this pulp. 2*.
