Another fun Lewis. One of his lesser ones, but still fun to watch. More gore, but less funny acting. Gore gore Girls I liked a bit more because it has more of a storyline and scenes build up to something, but this film has a great ending. Still, there are some big dips in the film, such as the complete repetition of a monologue: talk about stretching. But that compensates with the cool in-your-face gore and that classic scissor-in montage of Lewis' films.

Pretty wrong.

These are the kind of movies that never appear on TV but that you really should see as a horror fan. Whether you like it or not is entirely up to you. But I can still get something out of it anyway.

This film is very entertaining, but it is quickly clear that there is a very small budget. Partly due to the very poor quality and clearly limited materials they had, but despite this they can still place just enough detail in the spaces.

Sager is a bit half-hearted at least. During his shows he can easily hold the attention, but when he doesn't put on a show, he really falls through. Sometimes he goes too theatrical and acts too forcedly as a bad person, which takes away the whole mystery of the film.

The film does sometimes really hit hard with some pretty clumsy and wrong gore effects. In fact, the film is a kind of special effects showcase. And around that, a separate story that ultimately amounts to very little, unfortunately.

What is a pity is that the film never really gives a feeling of "wow" outside of some brutal murders. You quickly figure out what's going on and that takes away some of the mystery, which is a pity because then you can't do as much puzzles.

Sometimes the film also gets a bit repetitive, and Sager could sometimes act a little lower. Especially in the final phase (Look into my eyes!) was mainly a comic thing and then the whole effect goes away with which he can hold the attention again.

Sometimes also quite weak direction. Actresses can sometimes hold their breath? But for the rest a quite bad film that knows how to captivate. It is understandable that these kinds of films never appear on TV, but nevertheless worth a short viewing.

The presence of the sexy Judy Cler is the reason why this insane horror film just misses the title of 'Worst Film of All Time'. Talentless actors look into the camera, walk past it or are only half in the frame, which is due to the atrocious direction and the hopeless editing. Even without the ridiculous final twist, the story makes no sense at all. As a result, the images of intestines and similar bloodshed, despite the accompanying psychedelic music, evoke more indifference than disgust.

Montag the Magnificent [Ray Sager] is an illusionist who uses hypnosis to "volunteer" an attractive young woman for his illusions, during which he gruesomely mutilates them. It is an illusion, of course, so the ladies turn out to be very much alive after the act. However, TV host Sherry Carson [Judy Cler] discovers that Montag's "volunteers" are all dying shortly after the show in the same manner as in the illusion and tries to unmask Montag as the murderer.

Slow, poorly made piece of junk. Ray Sager's insane performance has to be seen to be believed, but after the first 'illusion' you can safely turn this thing off. Falling asleep on the couch is an excellent alternative.
