Personally, I was looking forward to a horror film set in prehistoric times, but Out of Darkness does not quite live up to expectations. We follow a very diverse group for that time with tight haircuts who try to survive in unenviable circumstances. The film mainly relies on the atmosphere, some beautiful shots and an excellent sound. There is exactly 1 gross scene and the last half hour, the finale, in other words, ultimately disappoints.

Well-made, atmospheric but unfortunately also quite boring adventure film with horror elements. In the Stone Age, a group of people come into contact with mysterious and evil things. The film is constructed in an exciting way and has beautiful locations (the filming took place in Scotland), but gradually the attention wanes and in the end there is little to experience. Too bad, because director Andrew Cumming certainly has talent.
