2023 was a massive year for cinema, with the summer period flourishing thanks to the releases of Barbie and Oppenheimer. The movies were released around the same time and many cinema-goers actually did the double-feature, which was affectionately named 'Barbenheimer'.

The movie is a Japanese animated fantasy action film based on the Swordsmith Village and Hashira Training arc of the 2016–20 manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge.

'Following the events of Swordsmith Village, Tanjiro Kamado undergoes a rigorous training with the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, in his quest to become a Hashira as the demon king Muzan Kibutsuji and the three remaining Kizuki members– Akaza, Doma, and Kokushibo– start their search for Nezuko and the Ubuyashiki family.'

Wicked Little Letters is a black comedy mystery film directed by Thea Sharrock and written by Jonny Sweet that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

One day, a series of obscene letters begin to target Edith and others, with suspicion falling upon Rose. Memory has already received plenty of acclaim from critics as it premiered at the Venice International Film Festival where it competed with the prestigious Golden Lion Award. Sarsgaard won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for his performance.
