A mediocre film about a man in financial trouble who's about to lose his house. A somewhat mysterious film that keeps you wondering where it all goes. It's a bit slow, though, and it could easily have been a bit shorter. Some decent dialogue, but otherwise, it felt a bit too vague.

It didn't get the best reviews, but I still found it quite watchable. Hawkins was quite good in his role, but I've seen Dafoe do better...

Charles [Corey Hawkins] has inherited the family home, but is unemployed and incomeless, and is in danger of losing it. Then a peculiar man [Willem Dafoe] makes a remarkable offer so lucrative that Charles can't refuse. The film takes place largely in the basement of the man's house. The static setting is compensated for by the ever-intriguing Dafoe, but the story lends itself better to a short film.
