The Hoot Owl plot

"Home is where he lays your head!"

April and Scott, a young couple whose marriage has recently been shattered by tragedy, try to make a fresh start. They do this by buying an abandoned house deep in the woods of Texas. A weekend of renovations and camaraderie with April's estranged younger sister Suzy and Scott's old friend Drew turns into a struggle for survival when the home's original owners return. As the corpses grow, April is forced to not only survive, but to continue the family history of incest and cruelty, pushing her to the brink of madness and the joy that lies beyond.
