The Dæmon plot

Traumatized by the aftermath of his father's suicide, Tom leaves his wife and seeks refuge in the lakeside cottage where his father met a tragic end. There, his tormented childhood memories resurface, all closely connected to an ancient, mysterious force lurking beneath the lakebed that inexorably drives Tom to madness. As Tom's communication becomes increasingly chilling, Kathy, desperate to save her husband, enlists the help of her brother Mark, a struggling entrepreneur, and Mark's compassionate but inexperienced wife Jess, a trauma therapist.
