Exhausted hospital psychiatrist Paul Lacasse is entrusted with a remarkable patient. Famed horror writer Thomas Roy tried to end his life by throwing himself out the window... after cutting off all his fingers. On the same day, an apparently stable and responsible police officer shoots and kills twelve schoolchildren. Doctor Lacasse and his heavily pregnant assistant Jeanne soon discover that the two incidents are related. There is a sinister origin behind Roy's inspiration for his gruesome novels.
