Sequel to successful Spanish horror film [REC] follows directly on from that and follows a special unit as they try to relieve the apartment complex where a massacre has been committed and where TV journalist Angela Vidal [Manuele Velasco] goes missing. seems to have disappeared. The use of cameras and microphones mounted on the helmets of those involved limits the jerkiness of the images and leaves it more to the actors to provide drama and suspense. Halfway through, the story switches to three bored teenagers who seem completely oblivious to the vicissitudes of a nearby building and decide to follow the rescue unit through a sewer and become the target of bloodthirsty cannibals who infest the building. More explicit than [REC] and technically better cared for, but the lack of character depth makes this less compelling.

Disappointing sequel.

The first part made a positive impression at the time. The oppressive atmosphere of the unpredictable that happened to the characters managed to catch on very well. So it makes sense that such films that leave such an impression on the audience should be continued. I just find it a bit disappointing with this film.

Again we find ourselves in the same setting as the first movie, but instead of running away this time we have to rush towards it. It's always a small risk when you choose to take it in an action-packed way this time around. In any case, the mystery of the event is lost, but the tension is also unable to return.

Especially since you can defend yourself this time. The film loses the helpless feeling that the first part managed to give you. The makeup and some innovative horror scenes still catch on, as does the tempo. In general, however, it disappoints, because it can no longer really grab you and drag you into misery.

I could not experience a real feeling of adrenaline, but qualitatively this is an entertaining horror film. The foundations are definitely there, I just miss the experience that the first part could bring me. The tension, the atmosphere, it is no longer achieved in this film. I saw that the next part is going in another direction. I have better hope for that then.

A film that is an extension of where the first film ends, literally itself. While the focus was then on firefighters in a kind of documentary style, we are dealing here with special forces, well, with a few only.

I found the approach that they weren't exactly zombies, but rather demon possessed. I found the role of the Church very unbelievable and made no sense. The search for that blood, for example, also changed every time the goal was reached or not.

Little touch or depth with the characters. So I didn't really care what happened to them. Other than some screaming, not much came out. On the other hand, I found the atmosphere oppressive and dark. The camera is close to the skin, just not too much chaos, but decent camera work.
