"But they see you."

When African-American student Ember is invited to spend a weekend at Abigail's country house with her white friends, she finds the place unsettling and strangely familiar. Drawn to a neglected grave in the woods, Ember is plagued by nearly invisible black insects known throughout Florida as Noseeums. Along with this constant irritation, Ember also experiences premonitions of gruesome deaths and unsettling, chilling flashbacks. Soon, the land's shocking history becomes clear as restless spirits seek vengeance for past crimes, and Ember embraces long-awaited acts of revenge.
