Dr. James Martin [Jordan Belfi] replaces a colleague who died of a heart attack for the psychological evaluation of a death row serial killer [Sean Patrick Flanery]. That evaluation is decisive for the question or his execution. The conversations devolve into a predictable game of cat and mouse where the killer appears to be possessed by a diabolical entity calling itself 'Nefarious'. Unimaginatively directed, atmospheric thriller never escapes the stage setting and the acting is hopelessly exaggerated. Hannibal The Cannibal would have known what to do with Mr. Nefarious. Hopefully that goes for you too.

The social-conservative religious undertone to which joolstein refers has not escaped my notice. In that respect, the point of view that the makers take on the death penalty is striking. But that is certainly no reason to watch this.

Not really a horror, more of a psychological thriller. And I quite liked it. The film is basically one long conversation, but I found the dialogues quite fascinating. And it may not be the best cast, but I didn't think it was played badly. Anyway, I had a great time with this movie.

A very tight 2.5 for the good acting performances and Christian discourse (which Joolstein had already warned us about). The 99 minutes took a very long time because more than 80% of the film consists of long conversations between the two protagonists. Every now and then one of them leaves the room and you hope that a second, preferably more action-packed chapter will start. No, after a few minutes of retrospection, he just goes back in and continues the dialogue. On the third resumption of the conversation I couldn't suppress a sigh.

Some images are nicely shot, although I wondered if greenscreen was not used every now and then, especially in that prison yard. The scene with the electric chair was pretty intense. What a heinous means of execution that was, although I wouldn't shed a tear if it were introduced again. Anyway, a somewhat boring thriller, albeit beautifully portrayed and well acted.
