Marui Video plot

The film opens with a statement saying that what the viewer will see was edited from footage found in a van owned by documentary filmmaker Kim Su-chan. The van was found near a temple in Busan. Kim is still missing. Kim and his crew were working on a story about a 1992 murder. A man killed his girlfriend in a Busan motel and filmed the whole act. The video is said to be so gruesome that it has since been shelved, too shocking to be made public.
