"... And all the devils are here."
Red-haired teenager Lydia has run away from home. In the wilderness, she is found unconscious by Ed. He takes Lydia to his community on an island. She discovers that he has four wives and is popular for his lavish paintings of biblical scenes and the end times. One of his pregnant followers, Saratoga, claims to be a virgin and expects to give birth to the son of God. Though initially happy, Lydia decides to find a way to escape Ed and his violent cult.
