Hell House LLC

Nice creepy horror movie. A haunted house that didn't really need any props. Despite everything, this haunted house had to open to the public, despite all the creepy shit that happened beforehand. Some parts were a bit chaotic, but enough creepy and exciting moments. I still had a few questions and saw that the director joined the discussion on reddit and provided some clarity. I don't know if I'm allowed to post it here, but here's the link:

Last night, I watched Hell House LLC (2015) and it's one of the best found footage of the decade so far : horror - reddit.com

3 stars.

Quite nice found footage film, mainly structured as a fake documentary with large blocks of found footage in it. The steady build-up in which the context is set up and we get to know the characters better, but especially the setting of a haunted house (after all, it is Halloween) that is set up in an abandoned creepy hotel make the film. It does get a bit of a repetition halfway through as more and more weird things happen while setting up the haunted house. And I wasn't a big fan of the denouement either, because of the same problem that many found footage suffer from - chaotic images with a lot of shock, screaming and running, and actually after the film I still don't really understand what exactly happened (yes, something about hooded men or something, satanic cult?). Now I am of the school that not everything needs to be explained, but this is also the other extreme. Still, overall pretty well done.

Another cheap suspense "horror" according to the Blair Witch project concept. I wouldn't call it horror. Use a smartphone that goes in all directions. The only thing in it is expectations. We see a person disappear in a ridiculous scene. Dive under the covers? Really. So many deaths in the past and no one runs out of the house screaming after the first disappearance. Totally unbelievable. Dredging suspense movie. Look at a clown and after 1 minute they look again and his head is turned. Constantly asking each other how to do that. Everything is just a cheap illusion. More suspense than horror. But quickly dropped off.
