The first few episodes were okay, but this is awful. Avoid like the plague.

A very disappointing final chapter of a generally mediocre series, in which director Stephen Cognetti has by now completely indulged in all sorts of uninteresting digressions and other bombast. Lineage differs from the others because the found footage perspective (but then again, I hope all the footage has been found by now) is completely abandoned and exchanged for a conventional format. Within this framework, Cognetti perpetually focuses on the threat surrounding that clown mannequin, without this appearance ever coming across as even remotely suspenseful. Just like the predecessor, there is otherwise plenty of story and a nicely depicted setting (Halloween remains a fine era), but after a mixed-entertainment first hour, everything has to make way for a half-baked exorcism story that is supposed to serve as the grand finale. Far too much rambling about a world that doesn't have much going on and really should have stuck with the first installment.
