While their parents recover from an illness, cheerful Iris and Lucas are left home alone. After a series of playful pranks on each other, the brother and sister begin to receive disturbing images and videos on their phones. This family project by director Jacob Estes largely boils down to absurdity without any merit. "He's Watching" should probably help establish Lucas Steel and Iris Serena Estes as young and promising actors, but the utterly cluttered visual direction and the utterly chaotic storyline skillfully hinder that. There's no sense of threat, tension, or atmosphere in this film, just an overly long runtime that passes far too slowly with all sorts of bombast and misplaced idiosyncratic imagery. The sometimes emotive soundtrack, arbitrarily placed under meaningless images, is utterly confusing. The filmmakers themselves regularly seem to forget the film's concept, but hopefully, the family enjoyed it. I, as a viewer, certainly didn't.
