After seeing Malone's Fair Haired Child, I gave this print a chance despite the bad score. Where the latter still excelled in originality, this is exactly the opposite with FearDotCom. The movie contains quite a bit of gore and it looked pretty good. That's the only reason I watched the movie.

Ridiculously bad. FeardotCom is an uninspired film that has looked closely at other thrillers/horror films. But clearly cannot stand on its own two feet. A boring script, too dark and therefore inimitable scenes, a ridiculous supernatural element and a boring bad guy. McElhone, Dorff and Rea can and deserve better. But then they have to read the script better before they say 'yes' to a movie.

It is indeed worth it.
I didn't expect much from it, but the concept nevertheless appealed to me very much. Therefore, when he came to my surprise on Netflix, but set up. I have to say, the film does a lot of things wrong, but I didn't think it was that bad.
Especially the director makes wrong choices. They actually portray too much, and that is at the expense of the mystery effect and the entire quest. Nothing is really a surprise anymore unfortunately, and that comes at the expense of a nervous and intense atmosphere.
For the rest, by showing too many elements, the film also loses some tension. Sometimes as a director you have to leave it to the imagination of the viewer, but Malone refuses this and that is why the film feels a bit directionless.
But I honestly thought the atmosphere was still good. Attractively filmed with atmospheric settings. The whole idea of the site was fun and sometimes quite creepy. The film has some interesting moments here and there.
What the film also does wrong, however, is to leave too much to the paranormal. In my view, the film seems to take itself seriously and thus also shows a realistic tone. However, the ghosts and ghosts, especially towards the end, take over too much. In the final phase, the film actually goes off the rails.
Film reminds me a lot of Event Horizon , despite the completely different settings. Especially the introduction of the site was atmospheric and creepy. For the rest there is quite a lot of horror in it so that the film never gets boring.
No, the movie is definitely not good, but I didn't think it was that bad either. An atmospheric horror film at times. It's something new again, this time a site. Sometimes nice for an afternoon or evening.
