Sara moves with her husband Alex and their baby son to a remote farm. The building appears to hide a dark and tragic history. When the past of their home is revealed, Sara's vulnerability escalates to a state of psychosis that jeopardizes her own safety and that of her newborn son.

Poor.
A kind of haunted house thriller that doesn't actually have much to do with ghosts, but nevertheless the scenario is complete. A couple with a child purchasing a new house. A house that seems particularly large for the turnover they make. It has become a predictable poem.
It's a mystery to me why names like Julia Roberts show up in films like this. As an actress, it still seems too successful for me to turn to projects like this. Gallagher Jr. it fits in a little better. Has appeared in some bigger films but never excelled. These are kind of the films he belongs in.
Ultimately, Abandoned is little concerned with ghosts and more concerned with the psychological pressure on Julia Roberts. The problematic thing about that is that it doesn't offer anything new, but also often comes across as a bit boring. Squire's somewhat unbalanced and safe direction communicates the stress of parenthood only moderately, so nothing ever comes across from the film.
I think I quickly forgot about the film, but that shouldn't really make much difference. Abandoned has little success in terms of direction, even though it looks cinematographically nice and the acting is still okay. I appreciate the setting enough to keep the score from being lower, but I don't really appreciate it either.

A mediocre film with Emma Roberts. The actress was largely barefoot. The film crew gave her the name 'little Julia.' This was a reference to her aunt Julia Roberts, who is usually known for her bare feet in films and public events.
The dialogues are extremely boring, and the viewer largely has to make do with a crying baby. The tension is hard to find.
