La Rivale dell' Imperatrice plot

In the 18th century, the Russian Empress Catherine the Great sends her lover Count Alexei Orloff on a mission. He must kidnap her rival for the throne, the pretender to the throne Princess Elizabeth Tarakanova, from Venice. However, things don't go quite as planned when Orloff threatens to fall in love with the princess.
